As a child I left our milk and cookies for Santa like most other children. In our house we also had a few other items as well. We left our Bourbon to keep Santa warm and Soda water for Rudolf's nose. It took me many years and the understanding of mixed drinks to realize the purpose behind the later two items.

As I have stated in previous Christmas Journals I firmly believe that when you go to Mass for Christmas determines how you open your gifts. Since my family went on Christmas Eve so we had plenty of time Christmas morning to open gifts.
Even though there were just the three of us we took turns opening the gifts.
The most important ritual for gift opening was I had to wait until Santa rang our doorbell before I could get up!

I printed out the cover of this album from my iTunes library. I love Christmas music. Each year my collection grows a bit more.

A picture of some great holiday lights. We went out one night with friends and viewed some of the best displays in the area.

Our tree has a collection of blown glass and classic shiny bright ornaments. That was one of the things that most impressed me about Dr. Geek when we met. He had an impressive collection of nice ornaments.
Through out the year we keep an eye out for new ornaments for our tree especially when we travel.

For sure the most common wrapping around our tree the past few years has got to be Amazon.com boxes!

Last year I wanted to find a nativity set for Dr. Geek and I. I had a small olive wood set but thought it would be nice to have a set that was ours. I thought we could take some time and search for a set that we liked and wanted to add to our Holiday traditions. When Dr. Geek mentioned this to his mom she offered us the set that he grew up with. Our search was much shorter than we thought. This year we set up the set for the first time. I like the way it looks in our home.
