I embellished the cover of my Christmas Journal tonight. I added some embossing ink and white UTEE. I love how the effect looks like a frosted window.

Well it's almost that time of year again! I can't wait to start the Journal Your Christmas class with  Shimelle's on-line group. This year I'm going with a theme. I fell in love with the Making Memories Deck the Halls line. Once I saw that count down page, just like an advent calendar, I knew I had to have it!. 
I also wanted to try a clear album and hadn't found any in local stores and was just too impatient, and cheap, to order one on line. So today while Dr. Geek went to the hardware store I bought a piece of 12x24 acrylic and had them cut me a 6x12 and two 6x6 pieces. Dr. Geek drilled the holes and then I sanded the edges to try and round the corners. It is a gate fold style album. I love how it turned out.
I think I'll need to purchase one more page of the numbered paper to accommodate the 12 days of Christmas!

My Contirbution to Thanksgiving Dinner

So this is my contribution to Thanksgiving dinner. I can't cook but I can craft! I only had to redo 2 of them. I hand stamped all of the names onto the cards with a Making Memories stamp set.I got a bit distracted at one point and placed one name upside down and another used a "b" instead of a "d". All in all I'm pretty happy with the results. Happy Thanksgiving!

A few good reads

Recently I've gotten back into the habit of reading for a bit before I go to bed.I love to read! I especially love the genre that is so lovely labeled "Chick-Lit." I know it is total bubble gum for the brain but I love it.

I just finished two books by an Irish author named Sinead Moriarty. Check them out for yourself and see what you think!

Long time no post

I've been a bad blogger. I have been busy with work, and the new house has been having a few minor tempter tantrums, but we've shown it some tough love and gotten it pretty much worked out. Although Dr. Geek suffered a fat lip in the process of installing our custom closet organizers. One of the shelves got away from him as he lifted it into position and it knocked him right in the mouth. Luckily no stitches or dental work were required.

I have also been doing some cropping and done some fun layouts from our Disneyland trip this summer and plan on cropping this Friday night. I've been trying, with no success, to use the SIStv layout widget to post links from my on-line portfolio directly here. Alas it hasn't been productive. I need to get some expert Wordpress help to see if I can crack this.

I participated in the Tag You're It Inspiration Relay over at Scraphappy. I can't wait to see how they all turned out.
