Spring Break is a good thing!

Today I was a complete bum. I finally got out of my PJ's and showered at about 3. Spring break is a good thing! I wasn't completely unproductive though. I did manage to complete the Fairy Tale ATC swap over at SIStv. I must say I am very happy with how they turned out. I'm looking forward to see what the other ladies create. I love taking part in these swaps because there are some crazy talented people out there. Dr. Geek says that I should count myself in that group. While I am impressed with how my style has evolved over the past few years, I''m not sure if I agree...yet. You just got to love a hubby who supports your hobby!

There's No Place Like Home!

I'm starting another Shimelle class today! Oh how I love her online classes. This one should be so much fun, especially since Dr. Geek & I have only been in our cozy little abode for 6 months.

I spent some time in the computer lab today doing some odds and ends. It's amazing how much I can accomplish on my day off. I only have a few school related things to do this week, so I am going to try and enjoy doing nothing in particular for my spring break!

You try to be good to the planet

This afternoon I needed to run to the grocery store. I called Dr. Geek at work to see if he had some of our canvas bags in his car since I didn't have them in mine. He did and I stopped by his car on my way home to pick them up instead of driving home and then driving to the store. While in the check out line I was distracted with filling in a form to connect my airline miles card to my store rewards card. I put the 3 canvas bags on the conveyor belt along with my purchases. When I got to the car I found the 2 gallons of milk were put in one bag and all the other items were put into a plastic bag, my two additional canvas bags were tossed in the cart along with my case of Coca-Cola. I tired, I really tried to be globally responsible!

I need to practice a bit more. Ever since I bought the book Pretty Little Things by Sally Jean Alexander I've wanted to try the whole soldering thing. I so have some ideas floating in my head.  Along with the soldering kit I also bought the charm bracelet kit. I figure if I can get some more practice in I might be able to make my own charm bracelets, and I so love charm bracelets!

I also really liked the Kits2Remember booth. They had some awesome kits for clear albums. I bought a cute tab class kit as well as a house album. I recently signed up for another Shimelle online class, No Place Like Home, so it will come  in handy I'm sure.

Making Art Cards

I found a few ATC swaps to join in on over at SIS. I'm going a fairytale swap and a Heritage swap. I started designing the fairytale one earlier this week and I think I've found a winner. I have some thoughts for the heritage design but I want to check out the Rusty Pickle booth at this weekends Scrapbook Expo. They have some beautiful Irish themed paper. But, until then here is the evolution of my Little Mermaid ATC. Enjoy!

Organizing

So I bought the Organized and Inspired Scrapbooker around Christmas last year. I've used it to really jump start how I had my scrap area set up. In the past few months I've reorganized my stamps and yesterday I tackled my QuicKutz. I rediscovered my QuicKutz during the Christmas Journal project in which I used Vixen on every page, as well as numerous shapes. I've also been checking out the QuicKutz Flickr group for some inspiration. There are some crazy talented people out there! I also ventured onto the QuicKutz website and they have completely revamped it. For instance you can create a wishlist, keep track of favorite ideas, and maintain an inventory of your collections! Oh yeah baby, you can then download the list as an Excel sheet. the computer geek in me was overjoyed. Over the past few days I inventoried my collection, along with the box-full-O-goodies that arrived on my doorstep from a friend who organized her stash and found she had many duplicates. I'm sharing the love with my Scrapgasm buddy CrazedParent. So here is what the process looked like mid way through last night. I now have the Magpie completely full of shapes and alphabets and then a few alphabets in a binder. I need to label the Magpie tins so I can find what I want when I want it. Oh happy day! I have an extra binder which may be in the garage sale pile or I may use it to transport shapes to and from crops. Now that I have everything organized I so want this now!
