Today I completed the Summer Travel themed ATC's over on SisTV. I was so bummed someone already signed up for Disneyland so I went with Hawaii.

More Home craftiness.

The Shimelle, "There's No Place Like Home" class did not lack creative content. I finished another one of the many "major renovations" today. The idea for this one was "Feels Like Home." You were to compile pictures of the doors or fronts of houses that feel like home. So I gathered images of our childhood homes, the homes of close friends and our own casa.
I originally wanted to make an album similar to the "Why I scrapbook" album I did with Kristina Contes this fall. The more I tried to tweak it the less I liked it. I won this little Maya Road album at the National Scrapbook Day crop so I figured I'd play with that. I love it! I raided some more of the Love Elsie Jack & Abby line. I'm using every last piece of that paper on anything that will stand still! For the rest of the materials I raided my stash of card-stock scraps and the QuicKutz tool. So here it is, what do you think?

The very definition of a great mail day.

I got called into school today to "fix the internet" translation: turn the servers back on from a momentary power outage. Yeah, I know.

Anywho... upon my arrival home I went to the mailbox and just guess what awaited me?

The joy of summer vacation!

One of the major perks to being a teacher is the summer vacation! Yesterday I took full advantage of it. I went to the 11:45 AM showing of Sex and the City at our downtown theater. It was fabulous (the movie was alright) but walking into the theater to find only 2 other women was WONDERFUL! By the time the movie started I believe there were only 10 folks in the theater.
I then spent the rest of my day running some errands and enjoying air conditioned malls to escape the warmth of my own un-air conditioned home. I told Dr. Geek that I want to find some type of patio lounge chair for the back yard so I can sit in the back and read. I've noticed that the sofa and the TV are difficult to resist.
I've also worked on 2 of the 3 ATC swaps I've signed up for. I'll post pix soon.
So today is another beautiful summer day! Enjoy it!

IT'S SUMMER TIME!

Oh yeah baby!  There will be a ceremonial turning off of the alarm Sunday night I'm sure. I can now sleep in and be a bum if I so desire. I still need to go into school and do some software and security updates. It is so much easier to do when there is no one around and it won't matter if the network is running slow.
I should start the assembly of some of the three swaps that I've signed up for on SISTv. I could bang through a bunch as I wait for all the downloads etc. That reminds me I the Fairy Tale/ Nursery Rhyme ones arrived today and they are awesome!
What else do I have planned for the summer, well some reading. I love to read and in the summer (or realy anytime) I love me my chic lit. I created an Amazon widget on the side with a bunch of the books I read last summer and I'll add to them as I go this summer.

Scrap Your Day album

Here is the cover of my "Scrap Your Day" album. I'm using an American Crafts 8x8 that I got at a local store garage sale. It was a total steal! I covered it with some Creative Imaginations paper. I need to cover the back and insides as well. The letters are from making memories. I'm not sure where the flower came from but the center is Heidi Swapp tape inside a rim from  a Making Memories tag maker. I think I'm going to keep the black and white patterned paper with just one splash of color through out the album. I also have the first page for April completed and in my Flickr gallery.
