Yup it has been a looooooong time since I last fired up the old typepad account. Shimelle's Blogging for Scrapbookers has started up again and I thought I should take some time to recharge the creative juices.
Since the arrival of Baby Geek I've been doing a fair amount of scrapbooking as I create his baby book. I'm pretty proud of myself that I'm close to caught up. On the other hand the Christmas Journal hasn't been completed this year. I might just sit down at a crop one day and throw it together as best I can. I've completed it every other year and would hate to not have one completed for Baby Geek's first Christmas!
In other scrap related news. I took an awesome class on organization and have spent the past week doing a major overhaul of my supplies. I've sorted, purged and condensed my stash and am now planning on ordering a ScrapRack to keep it all in check. A few things that I discovered during this process is that I've had duplicates and sometimes triplicate of the same item. I also have stuff in my stash from when I started scrapbooking nearly 15 years ago. Yes, I found 10x12 Creative Memories paper. Really?! What was I thinking? That means that I've moved that outdated paper 3 times! Good Grief!
As I get my supplies organized I'm pretty excited to start scrapping. Here are some of the items I've *found* that need to be used:
- Brads - all shapes, sizes, colors and materials
- Make my own brads - I have the iTopper tool and I've come across so many awesome paper scraps that I can make brads to match just about any layout I do
- Ribbon- this makes a great transition between papers on a layout
- Mini safety pins - Oh yeah I found a bunch, primary, pastel and metallic
- Heart shaped anything - chipboard, brads, eyelets, stamps, photo corners you name it I've found something heart shaped
I have some serious motivation to get this organization process done -- I WANT TO SCRAPBOOK!
