The past few years I've embraced hybrid cards. I create one base with my paper and embellishments, scan it and then place our digital photo into the card. I still get to play with paper and glue but I don't have to assembly line multiple cards.

Chilly, windy weather but now snow. Lots of leaves falling from the trees. This is the type of weather I love. Time to bundle up and have a hot chocolate as you take a brisk walk around the neighborhood.

It's been awhile since I've used flickr and my typepad account. It appears that the easy blog link between the two doesn't exist (or has been moved to a place that I can't find at the moment.) Here is day one of my Christmas Journal for the 2011 Holiday Season.

I decided on a 6x6 orientation, less real estate to fill. Although I have had an interesting time with small details with the diecuts. I love diecuts, I use the Sure Cuts A Lot software with diecuts from SVG Cuts, Lettering Delights and Kerri Bradford just to name a few. I'm hoping to upgrade to a 12x12 machine but need to do some research and find a machine that cuts through chipboard and is compatible with SCAL.

The most wonderful time of the year....

I'm getting the pages done and photographed to share over the weekend. I've decided on a 6x6 album this year using the Echo Park Christmas Dots & Stripes collection as my base. This will make it easier to complete the pages with minimal effort. Although I'm planning on using up all the real estate with some fun diecuts from Kerri Bradford, Lettering Delights and a few Cricut Cartridges. Let's hope I can get the momentum going with the Christmas Journal and keep updating this blog after the holidays!

It's that time of year again...

It looks like the only time this little blog of mine gets any attention is for the yearly Journal Your Christmas event with Shimelle. Better than nothing I suppose. I decided that before I could jump head first into the joy of JYC I had to clear a few things off my desk first. Here is the current list of projects hoovering on my scrap desk:

• Sweet 16 invites for the daughter of a good friend
• Got a bit behind on project life (like a month or so, for the second half of the year the documenting has been much more sporadic)
• We received a Flat Stanley from our goddaughter and I need want to create a mini album as the "souvenir" requested. I made one a few years ago for her older sister when she did the project so I think it is only fair. I'm aiming for a mini album to look like the "Adventure Book" from UP.
• An Etsy order for a custom word book that I'm trying to nail down the design with the customer.

I've got most of these things rolling and was ready to bang out some Christmas Cheer, but not so fast. Baby Geek and I went to run some errands today and got stuck waiting for a tow truck for nearly two hours after my car and a speed bump had a bit of an altercation. Such is life. So I have my ideas spinning in my head and they'll keep 'til tomorrow.
