I recently bought a refurbished Cricut Expression off eBay. I've been wanting a larger format cutter and had been doing lots of research about the machines that are on the market. I love using Sure Cuts A Lot, but I also like having the cartridges for quick and easy projects. I'm not thrilled with how Provo Craft has handled themselves, but I have never paid full price for a cartridge so I don't feel like I've been dupped by them either. By getting an Expression I still just have one machine, had I gone with another type of machine I would have kept my "baby bug" to use the cartridges and then used the larger machine for SCAL projects. This way I only had to rearrange a few things to make room for the "big bug." As for my "baby bug" I found it a good home.
I have been crafting away using both cartridges, SCAL and a combo of both. After seeing a layout on the Disney Scrappers board with adorable paper doll accents I decided to go all out and create paper dolls reflecting the Disney characters that are now part of "it's a small world."
Then I decided it was time to play with vinyl. This was my first attempt.
But some on facebook weren't clear that DLR stood for Dinseyland Resort. I was trying for a take on the European car decals. So to make sure it was 100% clear I made this:
I used the regular Cricut vinyl. Time will tell how good it lasts. The first trip through the car wash should prove interesteing. Oh well I made it myself, so I can just make another one.
A local scrapbooking store has a desing team call and I decided to be brave and create a submission. I'd love to get back into teaching classes so I decided to give it a go. I used the paper dolls I created, along with some other die cut fun, for this layout:
Keep your fingers croassed that I make the cut!
