Manicure Monday - Sally Hansen Miracle Gel

I've recently subscribed to Ipsy. The first bag wasn't anything to write home about. This month I'm much more excited about the products. I received an eyeliner, finishing powder, lip-gloss, hair mask, and the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Redgy.  I'm a mani pedi girl. About 90% of the time I do my own manicures, so I was interested in seeing how this combo worked. It says it is a two step system and doesn't need a base-coat. I was concerned about my nail beds being stained so I did use a ridge filling base-coat. I noticed the polish seemed thicker than most polishes, when I tried to use a thin coat it applied rather lumpy. Once I loaded the brush with more polish it applied much smoother. The topcoat went on rather well. I didn't do a very good job sealing the ends of my nail free edge. I liked the color, a nice coraly red. I applied the color Saturday afternoon, and by Sunday the tips had minuscule chips that grew in size by Monday morning. I'll try the combo again but this time with out the base-coat.
